Hi my name is Luca, and I'm new to the Zyxel world. I need to remove the Access Point management from a USG60 to another Access Controller. Looking through Zyxel software I saw that ZAC could be the solution. Is this really the case or are there other more efficient solutions? I currently have 7 devices configured with a MAC filter and with two different SSIDs. Can you help me? thank you very much

    Hi Lucca,

    Welcome to Zyxel community!

AP uses default method broadcast to find controller, you can remove APs like PeterUK’s instruction then unplug devices from USG60 and place new controller into the topology.

If you assign dedicated controller IP for AP to find, you must change the IP to the newer controller.

But for the wireless settings, we don’t support re-load config file on different controller models. It’s better setting up manually before move the APs to new controller.

    Regards,

    Bella

Ok thanks for the quick reply.
My question is also if the ZAC software can be considered an Access Controller for AP management like the one integrated in the USG60.

    Thanks again

    Hi @Luca_S

We don’t suggest you to use ZAC because ZAC is not maintained and many features not supported.

Both Controller and Nebula is recommended for your case, especially Nebula is suitable and easily to managed 7 AP units with 2 SSIDs and MAC filter.

With Nebula, you won’t worry about to re-config the profiles if new devices added.

Don’t hesitate to get it a try and come back with your feedback.

Quick Start to create Wireless network with Nebula Control Center

    Regards,

    Bella
