ZyXEL USG AP Firmware List empty

Since upgrading the USG Flex 100 from V5.21 to V5.30, the AP firmware list is empty (configuration > wireless > AP Management > Firmware).
In the AP List (configuration > wireless > AP Management > Mgmt. AP List) I see my AP (WAX510D with 6.30(ABTF.3)) and the firmware status says update availiable. But an upgrade is not possible.
Resetting the AP and reinstalling it does not work.

    Hi, @stefandreas

    Welcome to the Zyxel Community!

Could you kindly help us to tell what the description “an upgrade is not possible” that you mentioned means?

Did there any error messages pop up or show errors in the event logs?

Please provide us with the error logs from the path: Left sidebar Monitor >> Logs.

If not, since you just need to tap the check button above the AP firmware list and back to the Mgmt AP List.

Tap the Update Available button then the controller would download the latest firmware of the AP, after the process is finished, the AP will automatically reboot and process the firmware upgrade progress.

There would be information about the AP firmware download and AP firmware upgrade recorded in the event log, please refer to the picture below.

Hope the answer would solve your problem.

    Have a nice day,

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi
Thanks for the answer, these are the steps I tried to upgrade the AP.
The first screen looks different for me, the AP firmware list is empty. Clicking on Check works.
On the second screen, I can click on the upgrade and then the warning message appears and I click on yes (22:35:00). Then there is neither an error message nor a log entry (I can also click on no, with the same behaviour).
    What am I doing wrong?
    best regards, stefandreas

Reboot one AP as test. Then upgrade the Firmware.

Please help us to reboot the Flex 100 first,
Then try to upgrade AP again, and observe whether the upgrade process works or not.
If the issue is still not solved,
Could you provide remote access? (Please PM me with the information)
We have created a ticket for this symptom.
Please help us to keep an eye on your e-mail, we will update you if there is anything in new progress.
    Thanks for your help.

    Best Regards,

    HsinBo

    Hi, @stefandreas

    We have checked your FLEX100,

There may be a system file lost which is recorded the managed AP info.

Please help us to re-upgrade the firmware by following the below steps:

    1.      Go MAINTENANCE >> File Manager >> Firmware Management >> Find the Running Firmware

    2.      Tap the Local Firmware option (Yellow circle) to upload the firmware(Please download the FLEX 100 firmware from the path below)

FLEX 100 Firmware Link: Download Library - USG FLEX 100 | ZyXEL (unzip the firmware.zip file and upload the 530ABUH0C0.bin file)

    3.      Wait about 5 minutes until the firmware upgrading progress is done.

Please help us to observe whether the symptom is solved or not.

    Sorry for bringing you inconvenience,

    Thanks for your help.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi HsinBo

I have re-upgraded the firmware according to the instructions. Now I can see the entries on the AP firmware list again and I was also able to upgrade the AP.

    Many thanks for the help
