This page states

Question 3: Does this Configuration Converter work with the USG20-VPN to USG FLEX?

Answer: No. The Configuration Converter does not support the USG20(W)-VPN series.

Why?
USG20-VPN (after badge engineering, USG50 Flex) is a supported device.
Receives firmware updates.
Won't be expired as USG40 (supported by conversion tool) and all other no more supported after 31/12/2022...
It's not supported for configuration conversion.

This means: I should not buy and advice at all USG20-VPN because will be dead sooner than USG100 Flex and bigger brothers?

I'd like to avoid buying 2-3 USG-20 replacement for a device that will expire at the end of 2023... Or my customers are gonna rip me off and not kindly ask, but require a brand change.

    Hi @mMontana,
General Firewall hardware life cycle is 5 years, so there is no EOL plan on FLEX series at this moment,
which means Flex 50 will not be end of service in 3 years.
Even after EOS, maintenance builds will still be available for industry wide critical variability issues and Security license can run for another 5 years.
    Thank you
    Kevin

Hi Kevin, not asking a statement but a clarification.
    "In 3 years" means
    January 2023 + 3 years = December 2025
    or
    January 2022 + 3 years = December 2024

I will not consider the answer in any way as official statement the date for End of support/end of life of the lineup.

By now, We have no plans for EOS. So there is no clarification for the road map. we will have official announcement in advance before it enters EOS.
    Thank you
