NWA220ax-6E: no WIFI 6

Hello, 
I switched Bandflex to WIFI 6. But not one device recognize it.

I use:
  • Mac Studio Ultra with macOS Vetrura
  • MacBook Pro M1 2020 with macOS Vetrura
  • MacBook Pro M1 2021 with macOS Vetrura
  • iPhone13 ProMax with iO16.x
  • iPhone13 ProMax with iO16.x
  • iPhone11 Pro with iO16.x

All devices are only connected with 2,4 GHz.
My AP has the latest firmware.

What's happend?

    IEEE 802.11ax is a protocol.

    Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E are based on 802.11ax to produce.

    Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6G radio frequency, and devices require hardware support.

    So you need to check the product spec supported Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax)


    That product will support 6G radio.

    Yes, all devices are based on IEEE 802.11ax, but the Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E protocols were created based on 802.11ax. Devices require hardware support to support 6G radios. Wi-Fi 6 product doesn’t have the hardware support to connect to 6GHz.

    We have checked with Apple TW Support.
    Now only iPad Pro (M2) (2022) can support 6GHz, please help us double-check with your Apple Support. Do their product support  6Ghz radio frequency?

    Unfortunately, now Apple product that supports WiFi-6E is the iPad Pro (M2) (2022).
    All of your Apple devices are only supported 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 wireless networking.
    They don’t support Wi-Fi 6E protocol, so you can’t use the 6G radio with your Apple devices.

    Thanks Jay, I think that means that all devices based on IEEE 802.11ax should connect to the NWA220ax-6E.
    But they didn't.

    I will ask Apple.

    Hi MaDa99,
    I guess you only checked band mode in SSID advanced setting.
    Maybe the AP needs to switch Band to 5Ghz in Radio settings?

    Thank you. 5 GHz works fine.
    I thought I could use 6Hz, that was probably a misconception.

    I'm sad that your Apple Support gives you the wrong answer.
    We have checked with Apple TW. And they said they will report the issue to Apple Germany Team.
    Unfortunately, they don't have any articles to explain the spec.
    To let you can understand easily, we compare the none-supported-6G Apple product spec and the supported-6G Apple product spec for you.

    As the picture, now if the apple product supports 6Ghz, they will only mark the Wi-Fi 6E  to let the customer know.
