Linking Switches
Hi,
I have a GS1920-48HPv2 used unmanaged, I need to link it to a CISCO SG300-28PP is this possible to do via SFP on ports 49 or 50? connecting to the link SFP port on the Cisco? all other ethernet ports are used on both switches. I need to share the internet connection between them so I'm thinking it will have to be done via SFP? what parts would I require to do this? any links gratefully received.
I've tried it with a DAC cable but that doesn't appear to work, unless I need to enable something on the port first? by accessing the switch?
Many thanks

you say ALL ethernet ports are used does this include shared ones with SFP?
is the Cisco uses as unmanaged?
10Gtek are likely best to use for SFP Compatibility

Ports 49 & 50 on the Zyxel are not shared, just SFP
The SFP ports on the Cisco are shared, but I have nothing in the copper ports - this router is the one with the internet. The Cisco is also unmanaged
I have a 10Gtek cable, and when plugged into the SFP ports on both nothing comes through, this is the cable I have, perhaps it's not correct??

Hi @Pieman,
GS1920 supports Gigabit SFP, so it is recommended using SFP module to connect your GS1920-48HPv2 and Cisco SG300-28PP. You can use port 49-50 which are pure SFP port.
