What supports "Enable Rogue AP Containment" and what doesn't?
How do I know if the WAX630s support this feature?

    Hi @jef ,

    Typically, an Access Point (AP) may operate in a limited capacity under one of two circumstances:

    • Insufficient power supply: For the AP to function optimally, it requires an adequate power supply. For instance, the WAX630S model requires a PoE supply conforming to the 802.3at standard, with a power draw of 19.5 W, or a direct current (DC) input of 12 VDC at 2 A. If the provided power is below these specifications, the AP is in the limited status.
    • Inadequate networking infrastructure: The quality and specifications of the cables or the ports on switches/gateways to which the AP is connected can affect its status. If these components do not meet the required standards, the AP might only achieve a lower link speed, such as 10/100 Mbps, which limits its operational efficiency.

    Additionally, APs come equipped with the Rogue AP Detection, not Rogue AP Containment feature anymore. To find out which models support this feature, please refer to the Datasheet ‘s page 5 or the Comparison Table provided in the User Guide, specifically on page 14 for the WAX630S model.

    Looks like the wax630s is a '-', the hyphen means not supported then.

    What is the "Roaming Group" option?
    What values is expected? Is it not enough that I have an AP group configured?
    I looked in the "User guide" you provided, there is nothing on "Roaming Group".

    Configuring an AP group is typically sufficient for clients to roam between access points within that group.

    The Roaming Group feature is an additional option designed for scenarios where you might want to subdivide a larger AP group (e.g., an "Office AP group") into smaller subsets (such as "F1" or "F2" groups) to manage client roaming in subdivision. If you decide to utilize the Roaming Group feature, please ensure you assign a consistent name or identifier to all access points within each smaller group to facilitate targeted client roaming within these subdivisions.
