ChromeCast not working
We have a Zyxel USG20W-VPN and our TV in the meetingroom is using a Chromecast device that was working with our previous router. We did a factory reset on the Chromecast before changing the router. Once the USG20W was installed and everything was up and running, we tried to activate the Chromecast again, but it is impossible to get the device working. The procedure goes well until it blocks after the WiFi has been selected. The app on my iPhone first says: connected, but then gives a screen telling that something went wrong and probably needs a small change to my WiFi settings. I didn't found anything i could change in the WiFi part on the Zyxel. When i checked the connected devices on the WiFi, I noticed that the ChromeCast is there and got an ip, so maybe this could be a firewall problem rather then a WiFi one.
Is there someone who had the same experience and found a solution?

Regarding to this case, I would like to know the below things for analysis
Are Iphone and Chromecast on the same subnet?
Also, does you use APP connect with Wifi, the error message will display?
can you disable firewall and see the procedure is working or not?

My Iphone and Chromecast are on the same WiFi, so in the same subnet. I use a network 172.16.16.0 with a netmask 255.255.255.0 as we have customers that are in the 172.16.x.0 network too.
Sorry but I don't understand your APP connect question.
I am using version 4.2 of chrome cast.
I've already disabled most of the things on my Zyxel:
- disabled Policy Control
- disabled Anomaly Detection and Prevention- disabled Session Limit- disabled Drop connection when HTTPS connection with SSL V3 or previous version
I even tried to disable
- Restrict Peer to Peer Signaling Connection- Restrict Peer to Peer Media Connection

If Chromecast and Iphone connect with the same SSID, the process should be working....
Can you also check do you disable layer 2 isolation?
