Config file
Freshman Member
I have a USG20W-VPN and USG20-VPN as a backup. When we had 2 of the 20W I would just save the config file when I made a change to the router, and upload that config if it ever became necessary. Lost my main due to a water leak, and ended up with a 20-VPN not 20W. I doubt it's possible, but would the same thing work with the 20 & 20W? Would the 20-VPN ignore the wireless settings, or just brick the router?

Hi @matthall9815,
EDIT: You cannot directly restore the configuration from 20W-VPN to 20-VPN.
You must remove the wireless part from the backup configuration file of 20W-VPN before restoring it to 20-VPN.

Needs to remove/edit:
- The model and firmware version needs to be edited.
- WLAN-related configurations need to be removed.
- SecuReporter AP-related configuration.
- Need to save it as a new file, or you will not be able to restore it after removing those configurations.
