Hi @TedB,
The better way is to add some files to your server. Setting a security policy to block bot access might be a huge work.

Is that a Flex 50? A USG 50 is a first gen router that was end of life years ago.
Can you give more details? Is the bot attack on the wan interface?

Understood, small budget on this end for our nonprofit. USG-50 not flex. I followed a couple examples of blocking websites but that has not blocked the bot activity. We get pounded by amazonbot. I have a server firewall, software, that stops access once inside the external appliance. I want to stop it at the wan level.
I set up an Object Rule similar to GEO and a sister Security Policy so just need to tweak it.Thanks for response.

@basketball stars You're right that adding files to the server, like a robots.txt or implementing CAPTCHA challenges, can be effective for managing bots, especially those respecting web conventions. However, for malicious or persistent bots that ignore these measures, setting up a security policy on the USG-50 is more robust.

Thiers no way to stop this really when a bot goes to example.com and loads the index page it then can look at the other links and loads them.
But if you didn't have a index page then when it goes to example.com it can't load anything only if you know the page like example.com/homepage.html will it load
also disable directory listing on server
