    Hi @zymat6816,

To test, I made a SSH session with Putty: after a succesfull login I typed 'exit' command which made the session "inactive", but did not close the window as it normally does.

May I know which putty version are you using? I will check this issue in my lab with putty again.

    I tried with:
    Putty: release 0.78
    and
    Kitty: version 0.76.0.8
Both produce similar results, none of them closes the session as it is supposed to.

    Hi @zymat6816,

    EDIT:

Thanks for your update. We did some SSH tests and the putty popped out the error message. But the session won't connect back if I type any key (like space). Did you use the console to connect the GS1920?

By the way, we are investigating why putty popped out the error message and I will keep you posted.

    Hi @zymat6816,

I also want to check what Linux OS and version you use that caused "packet_write_wait: Connection to x.x.x.x port 22: Broken pipe <IP removed>"?

    Hi,

I get "broken pipe" from older linux:
Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster) and CentOS Linux 7 (Core), etc.

    I get proper disconnect from:
Windows Powershell and Windows Command prompt, with message:
    client_loop: send disconnect: Connection reset
Also on newer Debian GNU/Linux 12 it is OK, with message:
    "client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe"

This happens to other Zyxel switches as well. Exit ssh from a Zyxel GS1930-12HP works ok but exits with (connected with OpenSSH client on FreeBSD):

    switch0.incedo.org> exit
    client_loop: send disconnect: Broken pipe
    vader@xanadu:~ #

Exiting from a SSH on an ArubaOS it says (connected with OpenSSH client on FreeBSD):

    ap3.incedo.org (hallway)# exit
    Connection to ap.incedo.org closed.
    root@xanadu:~ #

Exit from a linux server (connected with SSH client on MacOS Sequoia):

    [sjoholmp@apollo ~]$ exit
    logout
    Connection to apollo.incedo.org closed.
    peo-M3Pro:~ sjoholmp$

Behaves exactly the same with all SSH clients…

Ok, ssh exits from the Zyxel switch (i.e no hang) so I do not care as it won't affect the switch or my work. But something is not correct and should be adressed in ZynOS in an upcoming update. Probably just "run user" rights and/or SSH settings in ZynOS for the SSH service… So probably not a biggie. Should be easily resolved if looked into.

    Hi @zymat6816,

    Thanks for the information.

In addition, we try to reproduce the putty reconnect issue but the session won't connect back if I type any key (like space). Did you use the console to connect the GS1920? Or could you record a video for us to clarify it? Thanks.

    I apologise for late reply.
Actually it was not putty but a fork of putty called kitty, latest version: kitty-0.76.1.13.exe
You should not pay too much attention to this client.

    Hi @zymat6816,

    Thanks for your update~

Just to clarify, is the exit command causing Putty not to close the session window not an urgent issue for you?

In addition, we also found that if use putty 0.7.0, the putty window will be closed after entering the exit command. The pop-out error message seems to only occurs on putty 0.7.4 and after versions.
