Hi all, why can’t I setup auto channel mode during radio 5 GHz configuration?

It’s only allowed manual mode, how can I use the best channel for it?

    Hi @Cecco

This is the current design for the 5 GHz radio channel settings. When selecting a 160 MHz channel width for WiFi 6 access points, the DCS feature is disabled. To use the 5 GHz radio with a 160 MHz channel width, we recommend using a third-party channel utilization analyzer to identify a clean channel and then set it manually.

If you believe that having DCS available for the 160 MHz channel width would be beneficial for your setup, we encourage you to share your suggestion in the https://community.zyxel.com/en/categories/wireless-ideas section. Your input is valuable and can help improve future updates!

    Hi @Cecco

One WiFi analyzer tool that I often recommend is inSSIDer. It’s a handy tool to help you identify less-utilized channels and optimize your setup.

    Hi @Cecco

To configure your 5 GHz radio settings, please navigate to the web configurator > Configuration > Object > AP Profile > Radio > Add/Edit and edit your radio settings accordingly.

For automatic channel selection to identify and use the best channel in your environment, you can enable the DCS (Dynamic Channel Selection) feature. This helps to minimize co-channel interference and optimizes your wireless performance.

    Here’s an example for reference:
