SCR 50AXE - Google Home/Smart Devices
Dear all,
Since a few days I’m a happy owner of the SCR50AXE. I’ve installed my WiFi etc, but for some reason a few of my Smarthome Devices are “offline” and can not be used by Google Home. When I’m home the Vendor App does work, but when I don’t use WIFi I can’t control it through the Vendor app.
I guess it is a restriction somewhere, but I don’t know where. Does someone else had the same issue?

Hi @MarvinSV
Based on your description, it sounds like there may be some configuration issues affecting your smart home devices’ connectivity with the SCR50AXE. To better assist you, I have a few questions to clarify your setup:
- Have you kept the same SSID (WiFi network name), password, and security settings from your previous WiFi router/access points when configuring the SCR50AXE?
- If the SSID settings have changed, have you updated the wireless settings on your smart home devices to match the new configuration?
- Is your SSID set up as a gust network (which isolates devices from communicating with each other)? For IoT connections, it’s not recommended to use guest network settings, as this may prevent your devices from communicating with their controllers. If guest network isolation is necessary, you’ll need to add the controller to the Layer 2 isolation profile to allow communication.
To provide further assistance, could you enable Zyxel Support access in your Nebula organization and share your organization and site name with us? This will allow us to review your SCR50AXE configuration and SSID settings.
Additionally, if possible, please share the MAC addresses of your Google Home and smart devices via private message so we can check their connection logs on the SCR50AXE.
Looking forward to your response!
Kay

Hi Kay,
- I've kept the old SSID name and password. That was the same as before.
- N/A
- It was not configured as a Guest Network.
Strange thing is that some of my devices did not connect to WiFi. Other devices were able to connect but did not get access outside the local network.
I think it is related to the Firewall and WiFi setup.
In the meantime I've restored my network to the old setup and every single device came back up. I have no idea where to look.0 -
Hi @MarvinSV
Is your Nebula organization and site still accessible? If so, please enable Zyxel Support access in your Nebula organization and share the organization and site names with us. We can start by reviewing the configuration and logs. It's fine if the device is offline.

Hi Kay,
Have done as requested.
Do I need to create a new case as well?
I can't link this one to be honest.0
