Access firewall configuration in bridge mode
Hello there,
I am experiencing an issue with my Zyxel USGFLEX50AX firewall configured in bridge mode. The device is connected to a router (192.168.178.1) via the WAN port and has a static IP address of 192.168.178.10.
Here are the details of the problem:
1) I am unable to access the web page configuration by navigating to https://192.168.178.10 from the same subnet.
2) Previously, I noticed an open Zyxel Wi-Fi network named being broadcast, but after a restart of the device, the network has disappeared.
I have verified the following:
The static IP address is correctly configured and does not conflict with other devices on the network.
The router is functioning properly, and other devices in the network have no connectivity issues.
Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

Hi @engineering87 ,

Does your router (192.168.178.1) function as both the DHCP server and gateway in your network?
2) Previously, I noticed an open Zyxel Wi-Fi network named being broadcast, but after a restart of the device, the network has disappeared.
Please note that the USG FLEX 50 does not support wireless service. Could you confirm whether you are using a USG FLEX 50 or a USG FLEX 50 AX model?

Hi,
the model is USGFLEX50AX, I edit the original thread. Router is a Fritzbox and yes operate like DHCP server and gateway.

hello @engineering87
The subnet 192.168.178.0/24 on the WAN port is like the Internet for the USG Flex 50.
You will need to set firewall rules to allow incoming traffic from this subnet to the usg flex 50ax.

Hi @engineering87 ,

- By default, firewall access via WAN IP address is disabled. In your scenario, to access your firewall:
- Connect your laptop to a port that is not part of the bridge
- Access the firewall using that port's LAN IP address
- If you don't know the LAN IP address, you can use ZON utility to discover it
Previously, I noticed an open Zyxel Wi-Fi network named being broadcast, but after a restart of the device, the network has disappeared.
Do you use the Nebula cloud mode or on-premise manage mode? For security reasons, when you register the device into Nebula or create a new SSID on on-premise manage mode, the default open SSID will be automatically removed.
