Password renewal option every __ days, opting out this option does not work.

Even if renew password is NOT enabled, the device still requires a new password for ALL users every 60 days- see pictures attached.

Either you take out the click option because it does not work anyway, or you make it work 😊

This other option does not work either “Please remind me: never”, it still pesters at every login after 60 days, until all users on the device have new passwords. Ugh.

There is another topic with the similar complaint, on another device- therefore it may be a more general problem on at least two model series.

Here you go: USG20W-VPN, latest firmware release.

    HI @Zyxel_USG_User ,

To better assist you, we need remote access to your USG20W-VPN to investigate the issue. Please check your private messages for instructions on how to provide WAN access to your device.

    Hi @Zyxel_USG_User ,

Since there is security concern, so we added the password notification to suggest user change password after upgrading to the latest firmware (5.39P1) . It will notify user to change the password at least for once a time after upgrading the firmware.
Please kindly change the password first and have a check if the symptom still exists.

What I am writing is- remove the tick box as it is misleading. Ticked or not, the firewall will still ask every 2 months for a password change. This is absolutely OK with most admins, but not the availability of a tick box which does not have any effect in the end.

And yes, after changing the passwords for all users the device shuts its mouth for the next two months, when the whole notifications start all over again.

Just remove the misleading tick box, that'll do.

    Hi @Zyxel_USG_User ,

We understand your requirement. To move forward with this case, we would like to confirm a point about the password change request on your USG20W-VPN:

After upgrading to firmware 5.39P1, have you changed the password at least once?

    Note that:

    • If you haven't changed the password after the firmware upgrade, the password change request is expected behavior, regardless of the "Password must be changed every (days)" checkbox setting.
    • If you have changed the password after the upgrade and are still seeing the password change request when the "Password must be changed every (days)" checkbox is unchecked, please provide your device's WAN access details so we can investigate and resolve this issue.
