What is the maximum JumboFrame MTU size for a Zyxel XGS1930-28HP

Hello,
May I kindly ask what the maximum Jumboframe MTU Size is for Zyxel XGS1930-28HP?

Must I enable Jumboframes (where would I find this setting in the GUI?) or is this enabled by default?

Many thanks for your help and kind regards,
Francisco

    Hi @eddeig ,

The XGS1930-28HP support 9 K jumbo frame by default, you don't need to set anything on switch.

For more details about the XGS1930-28HP, please refer to the datasheet:

    Hi Judy,

Many thanks for your answer. I'm a little confused. May I kindly ask you to have a look at this statement, I just found. It is also from Zyxel Support. It say's "at least 9K. you say "9K". I need to know if we can forward Max Frame Size : 9216 IP-MTU : 9198.
Can you conform that IP-MTU 9198 can be forwarded?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Kind regards,
    Francisco

    Hi @eddeig ,

We recommend following the information in the datasheet. So, ensure you connect the XGS1930-28HP to devices have jumbo frames set to below 9K for compatibility.

    Hello Judy,

Many thanks for your answer. The problem is, that I can not change the MTU of the periphery, which is "baked inn" at MTU 9198 (video-cameras) :-(

Does Zyxel have switches that support a higher MTU size then 9k?

    Kind regards,
    Francisco

    Hi @eddeig ,

We have tested 9K with an actual size of 9216 bytes, so there should be no issue meeting the video camera's requirement of 9198 bytes when using the XGS1930-28HP.

    Hi @eddeig ,

Regarding the sentence in the article: "Jumbo frame is enabled by default, with support for frame sizes of at least 9K."—this means Zyxel switches in the list support a jumbo frame size of at least 9K. The specifications in the datasheet will list values equal to or greater than 9K, such as 9K or 12K, with each number representing the maximum jumbo frame size supported by that model.
