Hi! I have recovered an RGS200-12P that was tested in my office a while ago, and hasn't been used in months.

I was trying to reset it, but I suspect it is not a simple performance I can do using the reset button, I saw another user asking a similar question here.

Is the only way to reset the router using the Console cable? I can procure one, but I noticed on the post that it needed your help anyway? Please let me know, thanks!

    Hi @Ramses82,

    Regarding the CLI Reference Guide, you should be able to SSH(might need to enable via GUI), and enter "reload defaults" to reset your RGS200.

    Hi Melen, thanks for that.

    The main issue is that I do not remember the login details... I tried SSH and it is enabled, but it asks to login first of course.

    I have procured a console to USB cable and tried with putty and it seems to connect, when booting up I can see some.details coming up on the terminal. But that doesn't come to a login page though.

    Hi Melen, thanks for that! I will try when back hime this evening and let you know.

    Worst case it would be the cable not being compatible, we have a few other switches at work and some other console cables at worst :)

    I'll let you know once done.

    For everyone, Melen was extremely helpful and it works. You need Zyxel direct support to reset these high security switches and a proper console cable. Check the wiring as mine was wrong too!
