Simple Routing question

I have a small lab:
R1: wan int 210.100.100.1 mask of 24 and lan1 192.168.10.1 mask of 24
R2: wan int 210.100.100.2 mask of 24 and lan1 192.168.20.1 mask of 24
Those 2 router are connected together but I can not ping R1 wan interface from R2 vice versa.
For cisco router you can wan1 int from R2 without adding any adding any routing table.
I added a static route in R2=> 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 210.100.100.1 and R1=> 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 210.100.100.2
Still nothing. What am I missing?
