Permantently loud XGS1250-12, is this normal?
I recently bought a XGS1250-12.
Some reviews on amazon said the fan never even turned on
That's very different from my experience. The fan is always running even when almost no network activity is happening and get super loud when it's active. IS this normal?
Here's a video I took in the middle of the night:
I'm using all 10G ports with these devices :
- ISP router (10G)
- NAS (10G)
- Desktop PC (5G)
- rest of ports is a dozen of 1G/100MB devices that hardly use the network heavily
I'd hate to have to return the switch as it fulfills all my needs (really wanted 3 10G ports) and I couldn't find anything else on the market that matched my requirements. But I didn't expect it to be that loud.
