How can I fix confi mode on Zyxel Switch GS1900-24E?
Hello,
I'm not able to enter browser configuration of Switch GS1900-24E.
When entering 198.168.1.1 in any brower it's not connectin to the switch, as it was normal before.
It happened suddenly after 2 years of no proble usage.
Device can still work as a switch, but without ip change is useless in my internal web while IP conflict with Main Router.
Haw can I reenter to configuration mode?
Please help.
Best regards

Hi @Tomasz_RJ,
Thank you for your post.
Firstly, we'd like to clarify — when you mentioned:
"When entering 198.168.1.1 in any browser it’s not connecting to the switch..."Did you mean you're trying to access the switch's web GUI using the default IP address 192.168.1.1? (Note: it seems like there might be a typo in the IP you provided.)
Also, when trying to access the web GUI, what exactly appears on the browser? (e.g., blank page, timeout, error message, etc.)
If possible, could you describe in more detail what happened before the issue occurred? For example, was there any firmware upgrade or reset recently?
In the meantime, here are some initial steps you can try:
[Direct connection]
- Make sure your PC is directly connected to the switch or on the same local network segment.
- Set a manual IP – Temporarily assign your PC a static IP on the same subnet (e.g., 192.168.1.100 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0) to match the switch’s default IP range.
- Access GUI – Open your browser and enter http://192.168.1.1.
[Use ZON Utility]
- Make sure your PC is directly connected to the switch or on the same local network segment.
- Use the Zyxel ZON Utility to scan and locate the current IP address.
- Once you discover the device via ZON, try accessing the web GUI using that address. If the IP status shows in 0.0.0.0, you will need to adjust it manually to a new static address ideally outside the range of your router’s DHCP scope to avoid future conflicts.
- After updating IP settings, you might be able to access the GUI.
Let us know what you find or if any of these steps work for you. We’re happy to assist further!

Best regards

Hi @Tomasz_RJ,
Regarding your question about DHCP: Yes, you can configure the switch to use DHCP instead of a static IP address using the ZON Utility or web interface. However, please note that
- When set to DHCP mode, your switch will automatically obtain an IP address from the DHCP server in your network
- You can still access the web GUI, but you'll need to use ZON Utility to discover the current IP address or check on your DHCP server each time (since it might change)
In addition, we would like to ask the meaning of the phrase “…and then IP adres of swich will be off linke standard common swich?” to better understand your requirement and provide accurate advice.
