hi everybody,
after upgrading to ZLD 5.40 on USGFLEX700 (Standalone mode) we got systematic authentication failure using AD Authentication against windows server 2019 Domain Controllers (so this shouldn't have nothing to do with the Windows Server 2025's problem as of Zyxel's advisory of last April)
We've verified that on other models (e.g. USGFLEX500) AD authentication works fine.
We asked to some other companies we are in touch to and they confirmed to us that they had the same problem on USGFLEX700 model.
Now I'm in touch with support who are trying to deal with it.

Since I don't see anything about that problem in community i'd like to ask if there's anyone else who've got the same problem.

thank you all in advance for yr feedbacks.

Regards

Renato

    Hi @rv_faro ,

Thank you for confirming that AD authentication in SSL VPN with "ext-group-users" is working properly with our solution.

    Hi @rv_faro ,

We were unable to reproduce this issue at our location with USG FLEX 700 5.40 and Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2025 as AD server.

To provide better support, could you please provide remote session access to your USG FLEX 700H (firmware version 5.40) so we can investigate further? We will send the detailed instructions for establishing the remote session to your community inbox.

    Hi @rv_faro ,

Thank you for your private message providing detailed information about the issue. We now understand that the authentication problem occurs specifically with SSL VPN when authenticating against "ext-group-users" configured to authenticate with Active Directory.

Thank you also for providing remote access to allow our team to investigate the issue directly. We have confirmed the problem and are currently working on a solution.
