Overview

This document provides firmware release information on Zyxel Access Points platforms, introduce new Access Points, new features and enhancements, bug fix, known issues and workarounds information for Release V7.20 Patch 3 C0.

Limitation of Settings

1. [SPRID: 241203097] [Symptom] When the Mesh topology consists of a non-supported MLO Root combined with MLO Repeater Hop1 and Hop2, it may affect the Repeater's downlink and cause issues with the service VAP lacking MLO functionality.

    After I installed the newest firmware on the new AP, the speed and stability have dropped tremendously.

    The device is a

    NWA50BE PRO, now on firmware V7.25(2)

    I need to reinstall the V7.25(1) which was stable and OK compared to the newest.

    On the download portal / library, there is only a much older version available for downloading, see here V7.20(*)

    Testing the bandwidth with any internet speed tests, but also monitoring the sending power on 2.4/5/6 show after the firmware update huge fluctuations in bandwidth.

    Just connecting to the AP brings to most client devices the notification that the internet connection is unstable. All this did not happen with the previous firmware, which I used approx. 1 month.

    The internet connection is working perfectly fine and constantly for the devices using wired network, whilst anything connected to the WiFi shows unstable internet connection. Instead of full signal, there are also only 2 stripes of signal strength now, previously signal was full.

    Where can I find the previous firmware to download and downgrade the firmware?

    Just in case- are there any pre-requirements or a special procedure to go through, for the firmware downgrade back to the stable version?

    Hi @Zyxel_USG_User

    We checked the first firmware of NWA50BE is 7.20 P1. Therefore, you may download it from the download library. To downgrade the firmware, you only need to log in to the AP and do a firmware upgrade to the previous firmware version.
    Before you downgrade, could you help share some details of this issue with us?

    1. The diagnostic file when the poor signal issue occurs.
    2. The result of testing the bandwidth with any internet speed tests and the output power.

    I want to install the FW version PRIOR to this latest version, unfortunately I did not take a printscreen prior to updating.

    There are so many flavours of the firmwares, with different endings! The ftp server also shows a very old build.

    The device came with 7.20 and it updated automatically to the latest version prior to this current latest version. That version was stable and we had no problems with it.

    Basically, after installing the firmware, the clients started complain that the Wifi connection is unstable. When I use tools on a desktop or the smartphone which I used for years, I have an entirely new warning saying that the connection is unstable. The internet connection is a business connection, very stable and is monitored in terms of LSA so the internet connection per se is not the problem.

    Please write what do I have to do to save the logs or debugs etc.

    Hi and thanks for the replies. I think this is not the firmware which I am looking for. The device had the version 7.20 installed, then updated to another intermediate version which was working well. When I saw the announcement with another patch towards end of October 2025, I immediately updated the AP to the newest version. Immediately, all clients started notifying that the connection may be unstable. Some refused to connect due to the quality of the connection.

    No configurations were changed on the AP, or on the Zyxel firewall which acts as GW. The clients were not changed either.

    Even if I connect, when testing the connection quality and bandwidth, this app which I use since years shows a yellow 'go' ring which never ever happened before. Now, I get the 'blue' ring for stable connections only from the wired clients. Internet connection is a business line, with SLA etc. and very stable.

    Clients are: MacOSs, Win11s, iPads, iPhones and Androids.

    As soon as I get the possibility, I will create the logfile / debug file and send it via mail to you.

    Here is one of the apps also noticing the unstable connection with the smartphones connected via the AP to the stable business internet:

    The ring around 'GO' gets immediately orange with the notification that the connection may be unstable. With standard to good quality connection, the ring is green-blue-turquoise colour from the loading of the app, and stays permanently on with this colour.

    OK, got to log onto the AP. The current version of the nwa50be pro is:
    V7.25(2)

    I need the version V7.25(1), if that version was the previous one and exists.

    I am now collecting the debugging and will send it via the portal messaging to you, Zyxel_Melen.

    Edited: I sent the message with two debug files.
