switch issue

Hi, I have a Zyxel GS1200 8HP V2 and a Hikvision IP camera HWI-D140H

https://www.hikvision.com/ph/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/HiWatch-Series/HWI-D140H--M-/

I'm confused why the camera won't power up and communicate at a cable length of more than 10 meters. The IP camera is a 12V device although the switch is showing as delivering PoE but the camera isn't functioning as it should be.

I've even changed the cable many times, the strange thing is it powers up and functions at a distance less than 2 meters. The cable used is CAT6 UTP copper.

I think this is a switch issue and I need assistance with getting this resolved. I even downgraded and upgraded the firmware on the switch and still no luck.

If i can't get this to work , i'll be forced to get an alternative PoE switch.

many thanks

I actually made another cable and the problem didn't resolve. I discovered the firmware of the CCTV unit was the culprit, the cable and switch are OK. After I upgraded the Camera's firmware strangely the camera operated as intended when I used the 15m cable (Aluminium plated copper). I previously thought the cable's material was the issue and bought a pure copper cable.

I definitely will need a check list when I troubleshoot these things.
