USG Flex 50H - Gold Security Package
Freshman Member
A quick question. On my USG Flex 50H, App Patrol, Content Filtering and the other services are set to active under the Security Services. But I don't have the Gold Security Package, only the Defence Entry Package, which allows me to run the IP Reputation. As I understand it, I should be able to completely deactivate the services of the Gold Security Package. Am I correct in thinking this, or is there a reason to leave them active anyway?

Hi @Dark_Aqua
On your USG FLEX 50H, it is expected behavior for services like App Patrol and Content Filtering to appear "active" in the Security Services section, even without the Gold Security Package license. This indicates that the features are available for configuration but not fully operational without the required license.
The Defence Entry Package provides essential features such as Reputation Filter (IP Reputation), SecuReporter, and Priority Support. However, it does not include the advanced functionalities of App Patrol and Content Filtering. While these features may show as active in the GUI configuration page, their protective functions are not engaged without the Gold Security Package.
You can deactivate these services if you wish, as they will not provide their full protective capabilities without the corresponding license.

Thank you very much, Zyxel Melen.
So, if I understand correctly, services such as App Patrol and Content Filtering are displayed as ‘active’ in the ‘Security Services’ section, but in terms of protective measures, they do not function without a Gold Security Package licence and can therefore be deactivated. Does this mean that any background functions are not affected by deactivation? Thanks for a short information.

An interesting question. Since the function is not working, deactivation these functions will not affected.
