NWA1123ACv3 not responding to hard reset.
Hello Support, I unplugged my wireless router for general maintenance and when I plugged it back in again it won't start. The LED is continuously solid green and the ethernet port is completely inactive.
I've tried resetting the device several times using the reset button from 5 to 60 seconds but the device is still unresponsive.
I've tried plugging the device straight into a computer with an independent power supply but the ethernet port is still inactive and tried different cables without any success.
Is their a possible solution using the TTL console port or would this be affected too?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Hi @ASGR,
Regarding your AP not acquiring an IP address: after resetting the NWA1123-ACv3 to factory defaults, the management interface uses VLAN 1 untagged, so please ensure VLAN 1 is allowed on your uplink devices.

Hi @ASGR,
I'm sorry to hear that your NWA1123ACv3 access point is unresponsive after a power cycle. A continuously solid green LED usually indicates that the device is ready for use, with the wireless interface activated and clients connected. However, your description of an inactive Ethernet port and unresponsiveness to resets suggests a deeper issue.
Here are some troubleshooting steps and information we'll need to assist you further:
Further Reset Attempts: While you've tried various reset durations, please ensure you are performing a factory default reset.
- With the device powered on, locate the reset button.
- Use a paperclip or similar tool to press and hold the RESET button for at least 10-15 seconds until the Power LED starts blinking.
- Release the button and wait a few minutes for the AP to reboot. The device should return to its default settings.
Confirm LED Behavior During Reset: During a successful reset, you should observe the SYS LED blinking green. After the reboot, both SYS and PWR LEDs should be green if the factory default file was successfully restored.
TTL Console Port:
- The console port is primarily used for firmware recovery if a firmware upgrade fails, or for advanced troubleshooting.
- Connecting via TTL console requires a USB-to-TTL serial adapter. The logic level for Zyxel devices' console ports is generally 3.3V.
- The pinout for a 4-pin console connector is typically: Pin 1 (NA), Pin 2 (White - RX), Pin 3 (Green - TX), and Pin 4 (Black - GND). Ensure you do not connect the red power pin from your USB-TTL cable.
- You will need a terminal emulator like PuTTY with specific serial connection settings: Speed 115200 bps, Data Bits 8, Parity None, Stop Bits 1, Flow Control None.
To help us diagnose the problem more effectively, please provide the following information:
- Firmware Version: If you know the last known firmware version.
- Network Topology: A brief description or diagram of how the NWA1123ACv3 was connected to your network before the issue.
- Error Message/Console Output: If you are able to get any output from the TTL console, please provide it.
- Screenshots: Any relevant screenshots, if applicable.

I left the device connected for about 30 minutes and the device seems to be responding. Every 5 minutes the LED flashes alternating green/orange and the ethernet port activates. Unfortunately, the device does not acquire an IP address. I've tried to reset the device using the reset button but still no change.

Hello Tina, the device is operating normally and I'm able to access the default SSID's.
