USG60
Hello, I have working USG60 with very old firmware - V4.11(AAKY.2) (2015-04-20) and I want to upgrade to the latest 4.73(AAKY.2). Is it safe to upgrade in one shot, or I need step by step upgrade 4.3, 4.4… 4.73? Where I will find the older versions? On myZyxel I have only 4.73(AAKY.2)… Thank you.

Hello Klau0.
I had a similar situation.
My USG60 had firmware version: V4.15(AAKY.0) / 12/28/2015 8:24:34 PM
I updated to V4.73(AAKY.2) / 05/24/2023 10:24:29 AM
The equipment is working. The update includes a file describing the changes from previous versions.
You can check whether the changes affect your settings or not.
But I think everything will be fine, since this is Zyxel0 -
Hi @Klau0,
Welcome to the Zyxel Community!
You can upgrade the USG60 directly to V4.73(AAKY.2).
Before upgrading, we strongly recommend:
- Backing up the current configuration.
- Verifying critical services (VPN, NAT, firewall rules) after the upgrade.
In addition, please note that USG60 is already in EoL status. This means the firmware is stable but no longer actively enhanced, and our support scope is limited if unexpected issues appear. For long-term use and better security coverage, we recommend considering our current firewall models listed on our website.
