We have 6 or 7 or so of these GS1920-24HP and also other GS1920-24HP in the company all fitted at the same time.

One unit the fan has come on constantly for the last 2 days. its the first time we have noticed the fan? it’s the only unit we can hear the fan. They are not very old. it’s in a metal comms cupboard in an air-conditioned office.

Any reason why this would happen to 1 unit, others are in much smaller racks.

Is it worth me removing and blowing out with compressed air?

    Hi @simononestop,

    Welcome to the Zyxel Community!

Regarding the issue you're experiencing, could you please check the following first?

    1. PoE Power Allocation & Consumption: High PoE power consumption generates additional heat inside the switch. Please check the PoE Status to see how much power is currently being used. If this particular switch is powering more PoE devices or operating close to its PoE budget, the fan may run continuously to maintain a safe operating temperature.
    2. SFP Module Usage: Are you using any SFP modules in the combo ports? Some third-party SFP transceivers may generate additional heat, which could affect the switch’s fan behavior.

In addition, if possible, please provide the Tech Support file via private message (click my profile > Message). This will help us investigate the issue further and determine whether there are any abnormal temperature or hardware-related conditions.
