ZyWALL IPSec VPN Client SecuExtander and ARM systems- Alternatives, Workarounds?

Hello,

I know this topic was talked about alot of times. But i want to know answers… Our whole company uses ZyWALL IPSec VPN Client SecuExtender to connect to our company firewall USG FLEX 500 and access remote desktops in our local network. (We have over 20 licenses)

Now some users bought laptops with ARM platforms (windows) and wanted to connect and thats where we ran into a problem.

As far as i know the Zywall client DOES NOT work on ARM. Is there any other way to connect to the firewall vpn? Any ARM specific clients, tunnels?. We tried to setup Windows native VPN client but we weren't succesful. We tried L2TP, IKEv2 and we could not connect. Even if we created the config file using the USG FLEX web interface which auto-created the tunnel.

It always fails with different errors like:
"IKE authentication credentials are unacceptable" etc. etc.

We installed all the certificates into the computer into the right root folders.Still same errors.

Did anyone tinker with this enough and had it work? We don't want to switch Firewall providers…

    Hi @aromak,

    Welcome to the Zyxel Community!

As the Zyxel VPN Client does not support the ARM platform, the only available option for ARM-based systems is the built-in Windows VPN client, using either L2TP over IPsec or IKEv2.

Since it appears that you have already tried this option but were unable to establish a connection, we would like to investigate the issue further. To help us to do so, please grant us access to your device as follows:

    • If the device is managed through Nebula, please refer to this guide to enable Zyxel Support Access.
    • If the device is operating in on-premises mode, please allow HTTPS web GUI access from the WAN by following this guide.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
