NAP102 Poor Speed

Hi,

I have problems with stable NAP102 WIFI speed. Sometimes the speed is normal 250-300 Mbps and most of the time it's only 40 Mbps. Also with a short distance to the NAP it's still 40 Mbps. Can't understand why. Do you have advice what settings I need to check? Thank you.

Hi @HansE ,

In general, laptop supports wireless 5G.
we suggest you to create a 5G only SSID for better throughput and the bandwidth of 5G can be 80/40MHz,


(bandwidth need to consider the interference in environment.
you may refer channel utilization for setting 80MHz/40MHz.
or enable DCS by schedule for AP select the channel with lower interference.)
below is our suggestion of DCS setting.

We have some suggestions for you:

1.     in Site-wide>Monitor>Clients

Because 5G has less interference than 2.4G, we want device with 5G capability connect to 5G

and reserve 2.4G for 802.11b/g/n devices. 

 

also check signal strength of device.

2.     in Access point>Monitor>Access points

check if AP with higher channel utilization (>40-50%)

go to Access point>Configure>Radio settings

(1) AP power: 5G power transmit power > 2.4Gpower 7 dB for device easier connecting to 5G.

(2) Channel: DCS, disable client aware and schedule at 03:00,

If 2. 4G:  the environment is crowd, select manual and all channel (use 1-11/13)

5 GHz channel deployment: Auto and if you concern of radar signal you can open “Blacklist DFS channels in the presence of radar”.

 

(3) if 5G channel centralize in band 1,

change 5G bandwidth to 20/40MHz.

If you refer the above information and still have the problem.

Thank you for your reply on my support case.
This is what I see in the monitor client overview. Please assist. I enabeld Support

Problem still exist. Speed is still 40Mbps. I have 1GB LAN Network and 1GB Internet. This speed is frustrating. Also cable replaced with CAT 6A UTP SFTP and new connectors. When I connect my laptop to the cable I get 800Mbps. Please support.
