Is it possible to group AP1 and AP2 and AP3 as one group,
AP4 to AP6 as another group?

And then I change the radio settings (or other settings) so that it affect one group only?

    Hi @businessuer

Firstly, we’ll suggest to use controller or Nebula to manage APs efficiently if you have amount of APs.

Here are the guides to group APs for your reference in above modes.

    A.      AP Controller

You can create and Edit AP Group at CONFIGURATION > AP Management > AP Group. By click the Group profile, you can edit the radio profile such as SSID and Load Balancing Setting for this group members.

Then go to Mgnt. AP List tab and click the AP to assign Group setting, here do supports Overwrite option once you want to specify some settings for the AP.

    B.      Nebula

Use the SSID tag function, the concept is the AP will broadcast the SSIDs which shares the same tag as the AP in the same site. Please check the link for detail configuration steps.

    Hi @businessuer

Thanks for your further information gives us a clear idea of the application you want.

These application scenarios can be achieved through the methods I mentioned above.

Here is the screenshot of the detailed setting steps for your reference:

    1.      Create Group1 and Group2 at CONFIGURATION > AP Management > AP Group

    2.      Click the AP to assign Group setting at Mgnt. AP List tab, for your case, AP1 and AP2 are assigned to Group1; AP3 and AP4 are assigned to Group2.

    3.      Go back to AP Group tab, edit the radio profile and SSID for group members by click the Group profile.

    > Since the radio profile is separated from frequency 2.4GHz and 5GHz, if you want Group1 with radio a and Group2 with radio b, it requires you to create 4 radio profiles (radio a 2.4G; radio a 5G) & (radio b 2.4G; radio b 5G) as below.

    > SSID can be the same on both radio in one Group.

    Regards,

    Bella

As far as I know, AP Group is only supported on the AP Controller.

If you want to configure different radio setting for APs on Nebula, you can customize(overwrite global setting) each AP's radio settings on the "radio setting" page.

And to customize each AP's SSID, you can use the SSID tag to set them up.

Can you check if AP group is supported on NCC?
If so, can put in a feature?
I thought the radio settings page will affect all APs ?  (at least in the NCC)

    Hi @businessuer

Nebula supports apply different radio settings to each AP in the bottom part at Access point > Configure > Radio settings page. Choose the AP and click "Edit". It will pop out the setting.

[NEBULA] How to fine tune the deployment with configuration radio settings?

Thanks for your good idea about the radio profile applying to AP groups, we’ll help to raise the feature request. Always welcome your experience sharing!

    Bella

    Hi @businessuer

So far, Nebula doesn’t support group concept on radio profile as you mentioned.

Your idea is already raised as the feature request!

Configure the radio settings as side-wide for most APs and override specific APs is the workaround for your application scenario.

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Bella
