Replacement for the ZyXel P-871M VDSL2 Point To Point Modem

Hi,

we have been using ZyXel P-871M VDSL2 Point To Point Modem.

Where one P-871M device is switched to CPE mode and one device to C0 mode,
which gives you an Ethernet bridge over a single pair of 2km wire.

Unfortunately it looks like the P-871M has been discontinued in 2015.
Is there a successor or replacement for the P-871M?

I don't think that Zyxel do this sort of device anymore, and their EOL list does not give a replacement.

I have not used them, but Planet seem to have a product called VC231GF that might do what you want, see https://www.planet.com.tw/en/product/vc-231gf?c1=broadband-communication&c2=xdsl-cpe&c3=vdsl2-bridge-modem
     - The website even talks about how the VC-231GF can be set-up in CO or CPE mode.

I have no relationship with Zyxel.
Due to the device you reported, I'd look for info on VMG4005-B50A.

italian site but english specs.

thanks for the reply! As far as I can tell from the datasheet the VMG4005-B50A connects to a MSAN/IP DSLAM, and not to another VMG4005-B50A.

Are you sure I can use this as a Point To Point bridge?
