How can I tell what SMB version NAS542 supports assuming latest FW is installed?

I don't think ZyXEL ever updates the samba version, so the firmware version doesn't matter. When you login over ssh, and run 'smbd --version' you'll get the samba version. Wikipedia can tell you what that means for SMB protocol support.
