Zyxel NR5101 Mobile Router - Cellular connection

We have 2 x Zyxel NR5101 Mobile Routers where the Cellular connections seem to drop/power off a couple of hours after they are no longer being used. We then find that the device then needs to be powered off/on for the device to regain a connection. How can we make it so the connection persists or at least reconnects on demand as I cannot find a setting for it? We are managing this device via Nebula.

    Hi @AudasITAdmin

We’d like to inquire about the details of the Cellular connections seem to drop/power off, is the symptom that device can’t connect to NR5101 or connected but no internet access?

Normally, the connection won’t be down even no one use it for long time unless the uplink network changed.

We suggest you can select Auto for Access Technology and band, the mobile router will discover and use the useable network to provide service.

If you have any questions, please enable the Zyxel support at Help > Support request > Invite Zyxel support as administrator, save the changes for us to check.

  • Hi

I can confirm that Access Technology and Band are both set to Auto. We have the same issue on 2 devices whereas 1 other device does not have this issue. Its very odd and there does not seem to be a setting to be causing this?
