Network discovery takes very long time

  • I have tried to change DNS settings on NEBULA "From ISP" to "static" and entered 8.8.8.8. And turned IPv6 off as ISP apparently do not provide a IPv6 DNS server

    Rebooted router

DNS1 and 2 still comes from ISP.

So I'm apparently not allowed to change DNS setting.

    I have attached screendumps
  • I managed to changed it to use google dns (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) as DNS service

    C:\Users\NilsB>nslookup 3.dk
    Server:  dns.google
    Address:  8.8.8.8

    Name:    3.dk

  • Just tested the speed.

Server discovery for speedtest on my phone is less that 1 sec. Download speed > 1Gb
Server Discovery for speedtest on WiFi6/1.2Gb connection to Nebula > 15 sec. Download speed < 200Mb

Nebula and phone connected to same 5G cell on same network from same carrier.
CPU power on phone and Nebula probably comparable.

There's something blocking the Nebula. Bad antenna? Not likely as that wouldn't delay server discovery but only download speed.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @Bigtroll001

    Noted, thanks for the information.

The symptom shows the bottleneck is from NR5101 gateway to the internet even settings changed, then we’ll need to collect debug logs on NR5101 to investigate. Could you provide your Org/Site name for us and enable the Zyxel support at Help > Support request > Invite Zyxel support as administrator, save the changes for us to check?

    Thank you

    Regards,

    Bella
