NR5103E Flashed wrong firmware = bricked ?
Freshman Member
hi all
I bought 5g router NR5103E and accidentally flashed V4.19(ABYC.3)C0 firmware made for NR5103
I bought it second hand so there’s no way I will get support from network provider Is there a way to restore right firmware and get it back to life ?
For now I’m able only to access setting via LAN. Wi-Fi is on but is not working cellular works as expected
I had idea to flash back right firmware but I’m unable to find files online. ( I have no backup to restore )
thanks

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my findings after accidentally flashing the wrong firmware onto my NR5103E, as it may be useful for others in a similar situation.
My device is a Three UK branded NR5103E (serial: S230Z12028890) which was running ISP firmware V1.00(ACDJ.2)b1_E0 (Three Sweden variant). I was experiencing a hard cap of ~312 Mbps on ethernet despite the router providing 600+ Mbps over WiFi and having a 1 Gbps physical ethernet link. The cause was the ISP firmware locking the router to Router mode only, with NAT processing bottlenecking all ethernet traffic.
I accidentally flashed V4.19(ABYC.5)C0 (NR5103 firmware, not NR5103E) onto the device. Here is what happened:
- WiFi: No longer broadcasting — the SSID does not appear, even though the setting shows as enabled in the GUI
- Cellular: Fully working
- LAN/Ethernet: Fully working
- Ethernet speeds: Increased from ~312 Mbps to 677-732 Mbps
- Cellular IP Passthrough: Now available and functional
- T-Mobile Poland WAN IP: Public IP assigned (100.x.x.x), not CGNAT
The most significant finding is the ethernet speed improvement — the wrong firmware actually removes the NAT bottleneck that the ISP firmware imposes, resulting in more than double the wired throughput.
I have since posted a separate thread requesting the correct NR5103E firmware to restore WiFi functionality. In the meantime the router is fully usable for my purposes as I only need ethernet and cellular.
Hope this helps someone!
