Issues with firmware upgrade GS2210
Hello colleagues!
I'm having some issues upgrading my GS2210 switches to latest patch 4.50 (AASP 4).
So far on 3 switches(2x GS2210-8 and 1x GS2210-24) running 4.50 (AASP 2), when I'm trying to upload the new firmware file, the browser displays uploading percent, but the progress bar doesn't display. Also, the upload ends with "the switch didn't send any data "
I've tried a switch reboot, but without any success.
Has anyone encountered this error?
Thank you!

Hi @AndrewOx,
The Zyxel switch supports dual firmware images, image 1
ras-0
and image 2ras-1
. Please help to check which image is the current backup image and use the related command.Hope it helps.

Have you checked if the PC's firewall is disabled? I have the same experience when the firewall is enabled…..
By the way, you can also try to use FTP to upgrade firmware. Check this from the user guide.

Thank you for your quick answer. I will try your suggestion with the FTP client. Forgot to mention one important thing. For other switches or switches with older firmware (4.10, 4.30) the update works without issues. Even for 4.50 (AASP 2) I had one switch working as expected.

Hello again!
I tried FTP upgrade and I receive the following error:
Write error: -8 error file name
I didn't found anything in the user manual about it. I've tried renaming the file to "firmware.bin" and put it directly into root directory in order to short the name.
Can anyone help with this error?
Thank you!

Hi @AndrewOx,
Could you screenshot the FTP command you entered and the result? And where is the firmware placed (file path)?

Solved! As soon as I ran the command with 'ras-0' instead of ras it worked like a charm. Thank you everyone for your answers and support!
