Linking Zyxel DX3301-T0 to existing Unifi Router & mesh
I'm looking to change my internet provider and one of the options, Quickline, are wanting to install a Zyxel DX3301-T0 router. My existing house wifi is a Unify UDM (not Pro) and 2 Unifi mesh APs.
My initial question is can the Zyxel DX3301-T0 operate in Modem mode and simply connect to the UDM in the same way that the existing Virgin router does.
That said, I'm wondering if maybe this is an opportunity to upgrade my wifi, given that the Zyxel DX3301-T0 is WiFi6 and may be better than the UDM.
TIA

Hello @DickiePhitt
Welcome to the forum.
Looking at the DX3301-T0 user guide at https://support.zyxel.eu/hc/en-us/articles/5858783065362-User-Guide-AX-DX-PX-3301-T0-Serie-V5-13-5-50 I cannot see that the DX3301-T0 can behave as a broadband modem.
It might be an opportunity to upgrade your WiFi…but I haven't looked and done a specification compare.
The DX3301-T0 has 4 LAN ports on it, so you could connect your Unify UDM's Internet WAN connection to one of the 4 LAN ports and be able to use both with the DX3301-T0 acting as a router with a DSL connection.
Kind regards,
Tony
