Hi,

i´ve 2 questions regarding the mentioned switch.

  1. It is possible to increase the time until automatic logout?
it's annoying sometimes, when you have a look into the guide, YouTube or something other, and after a few seconds you have to login again. :-(
  2. my Setup is FritzBox (Fibre Router) → GS1920-24HPv2 → AP NW-1123-AC-PRO
currently my FritzBox is the DHCP server. I would like to have DHCP server which can provide different IP-ranges for different VLANS:
    i.e VLAN 10 (my own devices) IP: 192.168.10.1 - 192.168.10.255
    VLAN 20 (guests) IP: 192.168.20.1 - 192.168.20.255
Is this configurable with the GS1920-24HPv2 switch?

btw: currently i use the standalone - on Premise version.

regards

Hubbi

Yes, you can increase the time of timeout. Please refer to this FAQ:

In addition, you can also use HTTPS protocol to access your switch web GUI.

Yes, you can configure VLANs on GS1920-24HPv2. Please refer to this FAQ for configure VLAN setting:

Your configuration would be like the below example:

    Topology

FritzBox —— (port 24) GS1920-24HPv2 (port 1 for VLAN 10 and port 2 for VLAN 20) —— PC and another device

    Configuration

    VLAN 10:

    VLAN 20:

    VLAN port setting:

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

much thanks for your explanation, but my goals is to set up two VLANS. One internal WLAN (my own) devices, and one Guest WLAN over teh AP NW.1123_AC-PRO (described in

    )

My question would be, it is possible to configure the GS1920 so, that it works as a DHCP server and whether I can provide different IP ranges for the VLANS.

    like:
    - VLAN 10 (my own devices) IP: 192.168.10.1 - 192.168.10.255
    - VLAN 20 (guests) IP: 192.168.20.1 - 192.168.20.255

Or do I have to do this via a corresponding router?

btw.: The FitzBox cannot use VLAN

I'm sorry for the strange questions, but I've only recently started working with VLANS and Zyxel devices

    Hi @Hubbi,

Thanks for the information about your FitzBox.
To fulfill your purpose, It is not only to set VLANs on the switch but also to create VLAN interfaces on the router. In other words, the router has to support the VLAN interfaces.
I recommended purchasing a router/firewall that supports the VLAN interfaces.
In addition, GS1920 is a layer two switch. It does not support the DHCP server function.
