ssh on NR5103E

Hello! I want to set up an ssh homeserver. Everything is working on the ssh end on my computer but I can't connect to it over a different network. I can't even ping my public (the routers) ip adress from an outside source. And I can't figure out of to do this. I've tried to lower the firewall settings and for a brief moment even disabled it (just to see if that was the problem) but no positive results! I need help! I know I need to forward the port I'm using for my ssh server but since I can't even ping the router from outside that isn't relevant yet
