In some networking scenarios, there's a need to ensure that clients connecting to a particular SSID are provided with an IP address by a specific DHCP server. While Nebula AP operate in a bridged mode and do not directly offer DHCP services, this guide will walk you through how to do so.

Topology and Scenario

Gateway (serves as DHCP server for specific VLAN) --- Switch --- AP

Configuration

DHCP Configuration: Ensure that the DHCP server on the gateway is correctly configured and actively distributing IP addresses.

Go to Site-wide > Configure > Access points > SSID advanced settings > select the SSID you want to assign specific VLAN.

Assign the VLAN that corresponds with the one set on your gateway in the VLAN ID column.

Verification

Connect a client device to the SSID. It should successfully obtain an IP address in the subnet with specific VLAN.

Noted

1. SSID-VLAN Mismatch: If clients are unable to obtain an IP, ensure the VLAN assigned to the SSID matches the VLAN configuration on your gateway.

2. DHCP Configuration: Ensure that the DHCP server on the gateway is correctly configured and actively distributing IP addresses.
