Background
Some users may experience difficulties accessing the internet through the Ethernet WAN port on the Zyxel NR5101. This issue often arises because the LAN1/WAN port is configured as a LAN port by default.
Solution
- Check Port Configuration: Ensure the LAN1/WAN port on the NR5101 is set to WAN mode. By default, it's set as a LAN port, which won't allow internet access if connected as a WAN.
- Enable WAN Port:
- Navigate to Network Setting > Broadband > Ethernet WAN
- Switch the port configuration from LAN to WAN.
- Verify Connectivity: After enabling the WAN port, check if the internet connection is established.
