EX3301/WX3100 unable to stay connected

Options

Got a problem with an EX3301/WX3100 pair where the mesh extender can't stay connected.

When linked, the extender shows as a repeater on the router. After a while, it drops off and comes back as a client with a different IP address, so the extender stops working.

Both devices have been replaced and multiple firmware versions tried. Since the replacement it lasted about 2 months before the problem started again.

Anybody seen this before?
