Seeing the third LED on your Zyxel 5101 modem illuminate in red indicates a problem with your signal strength. Specifically, a steady red light means the signal strength is poor, while a blinking red light suggests there is no cellular signal at all, or the signal strength has dropped below a poor level.
To resolve this issue, we recommend the following steps:
- Relocate Your Modem: Try moving your NR5101 modem to a different location within your area where the signal might be stronger. The ideal location is near a window or at a higher point in your premises.
- Use an External Antenna: Consider connecting an external antenna to your modem. An external antenna can significantly enhance the signal strength, especially if you're in an area with traditionally poor cellular reception.
