How to block the certain wireless client on an AP?
To prevent specific devices from accessing your WLAN, you can use the MAC Filter feature. This method blocks all devices whose MAC addresses are entered into the Access Point's MAC address block list.
Follow these step-by-step instructions to configure the MAC Filter:
- Navigate to Configuration > Object > AP Profile > SSID > MAC Filter list, then click the Add button.
- Enter the Profile name and set the Filter Action to "deny".
- Click the Add button again, enter the MAC address you wish to block, and click OK.
- To apply the MAC Filter to the SSID Profile, go to Configuration > Object > AP Profile > SSID > SSID list.
- Finally, apply the SSID to the AP profile by navigating to Configuration > Wireless > AP Management.
Note:
If you plan to add MAC addresses to the block list that are currently connecting to the AP, it's recommended to verify them via [Monitor > Wireless > Station Info] as clients connect to the AP. This is important because many Wi-Fi devices use a "Random MAC Address" feature, which generates a different MAC address from the device's original system MAC address when connecting to different SSIDs.
