NWA55AXE can't connect in WDS with nwa5123ni
I bought an nwa55axe to try to create a wds extension with a previously
existing nwa5123ni, which is connected to a wired network. After
following the guide linked below, what I am seeing is that the nwa5123ni, configured
as ap root, shows the nwa55axe connected in wds, but with a signal
strength of -95db, regardless of their distance (I tried anything from one meter, to 10, to 100, same thing). Also in the logs I can
see a wpa disassociation from the nwa55axe every 40 seconds. I have tried to connect to the nwa55axe as a standalone AP and it works OK. What could the problem be? Is my unit defective?

Hi @dbettella
We were able to reproduce the same issue you mentioned in our lab. This issue might be due to radio mode compatibility problems.
However, since the NWA5123-NI has already reached its EOL (End of Life) status, we can only provide a workaround to meet your requirements. The good news is that I have found a way to configure the WDS connection between these two models using their latest firmware versions.
- Set the NWA55AXE to act as the root AP and use the NWA5123-NI as the repeater AP.
- Configure the 2.4GHz radio mode to 802.11b/g for both APs.
- Wait until the WDS connection is established.
Please verify this setup on your end.
Additionally, since the NWA5123-NI has reached its EOL status, we recommend considering an upgrade to the current AP models offered here:
for optimal performance and support.Kay
