Does the NWA130BE support Zero-Wait DFS?
Hello everyone,
Unfortunately I can't find any documentation about the support of Zero-Wait DFS for most access points. Only for the WAX650S I found the feature mentioned in these release notes.
The feature is quite important though. Without it you are either bound to non-DFS bands or will have wifi disruptions due to channel transitions. In crowded environments this is a big issue.
Thanks for your help!

Hi @fabian ,
To support Zero-Wait DFS, a dedicated monitoring radio is required, which is related to the hardware design.
As a result, Zero-Wait DFS support is not widely available on Zyxel access points, except for the WAX650S. There is no mention of Zero-Wait DFS support for other Zyxel access points, including the NWA130BE.
Need to note that Zero-Wait DFS has two main functions:
- Ensuring more stable Wi-Fi during Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS) scanning
- Maintaining Wi-Fi service when DFS Channels (CH52-CH144) is selected after DCS scanning.
Wireless disconnection is general symptom on all Wi-Fi devices when channel transition even with Zero-Wait DFS supported models. To enhance that, we have implemented Channel Switch Announcement (CSA) to avoid disconnection, but its effectiveness depends on the client’s capability.
To minimize wireless impact when channel transition, you can configure the AP to perform DCS during periods with minimal or no service impact.
