Background
With the launch of our product line, we introduced various models with similar specifications but differing version types. This can sometimes cause confusion among users, leading them to mistake their switch for the initial version when it's actually the v2 version, or vice versa. Such confusion may result in improper configuration settings or firmware updates. Ensuring accurate identification of your switch model is crucial for seamless operation and maintenance.
Steps to verify:
To verify your switch version, follow these steps:
- Log into the web configurator of your switch.
- Navigate to the status or system information page.
- Check the firmware string displayed for your switch.
- For example, consider the GS1920-48HP switch. The firmware string for the initial version might be VX.XX(AAOA.X), while for the GS1920-48HPv2, it could be VX.XX(ABMK.X).
By following these steps, you can accurately determine your switch version, ensuring that you configure and update it appropriately.
