Is VMG4005-B50A easy to use in the UK on BT Openreach Fibre to the Cabinet VDSL?

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can tell me how easy it would be or not to use the VMG4005-B50A in the UK with my BT VDSL connection?

I would probably connect my NBG7510 to it as the router.

I am thinking about updating my home setup.

Kind regards,

Tony

    Hi all,

I have ordered one, as there is a thread on the Kitz forum that suggests that it should be able to work in the UK.

    Hi all,

I have got VMG4005 working with the firmware ABQA.2.1 in bridge mode together with my NBG7510.

However, I have a query about DHCP settings, as follows:

    1. If I want my NBG7510 router to get its WAN IP address automatically from my ISP, then what settings do I need to have in the VMG4005?
      1. I thought about DHCP relay, but I do not know what address to use for DHCP relay to for my ISP.
      2. If I just left it as DHCP Disabled in the VMG4005 then would all the PPPoE pass through the VMG4005 and just work and give my NBG7510 a WAN IP address automatically?
      3. Do I need to enable PPPoE passthrough on the VMG4005? I set-up PPPoE on my NBG7510 router.

    2. My NBG7510 worked with PPPoE if I set it to statically have the WAN IP address that my ISP has given out to my existing VMG1312-B10D device.
      1. Is this going to work long term if my ISP ever decides to change my IP address?

    Thoughts?

    Kind regards,

    Tony
