Why does my network drive disconnect from time to time?

Symptom:

Sometimes the network drive disconnects for a very short period, around 1 second, and then restores the connection immediately. During the disconnection, you can see a red cross on the drives. However, you can still ping the drive during the disconnection.

If you have an AD server in your network environment, you can check the Windows Event Viewer. You might see Event 1501 occurring from time to time. This event indicates that the AD GPO rule has been checked.

If the GPO setting is set to "replace" instead of "update," the network drive session will disconnect every time the GPO policy is applied. To resolve this issue, change the AD GPO action to "update." For more detailed information, please refer to this thread.
