Using band select helps manage network traffic by steering clients from the 2.4GHz band to the 5GHz band. This can reduce congestion and improve overall network performance, especially in environments with many wireless devices. The goal is to enhance user experience by leveraging the less crowded 5GHz band, which offers higher data rates and reduced interference.

Configuration

  1. Go to > Site-wide > Configure > Access points > SSID advanced settings
  2. Select the SSID you want to enable Band select in the list.

3. Enable Band select in Advanced settings section.

4. Click Save and wait some minutes to take effect.

Note:

  1. The band select function only works for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
  2. When the wireless connection is running MLO, the band select function won't work.
