If your Smart Mesh connection between APs disconnects when the repeater AP is unplugged and deployed to wireless side, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Check for Channel Interference:
    • Interference on the Root AP's channel can cause connectivity issues. For example, if the Root AP is on channel 44 and there is significant interference, this can prevent the repeater from connecting.
  2. Adjust the Location and Settings:
    • Place the Root AP in a different location and perform a Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS) Now operation. This can help find a less congested channel.
    • Use a different AP unit as the Root AP and then perform DCS Now. This helps determine if the issue is due to environmental interference or the AP itself.
  3. Reconfigure APs:
    • Ensure both APs are online in the Nebula Control Center (NCC) and re-add the APs to the Mesh configuration.
    • Instead of just swapping the roles of Root and Repeater between the same APs, use a completely different AP for testing.

Example Steps:

  • Place the Root AP to another location.
  • Perform DCS Now and then try to build the Mesh.
